Venice and Ravenna

I first went to Venice in the summer of 2019, and took quite a lot of photographs. At one point in our stay we also zipped over to Ravenna and took more photographs there. A selection of them then appeared on this blog over a number of posts, so as so often an index page seems necessary to collect them all. These are the posts.

  1. The Gilty Heart of Venice, on San Marco di Venezia;
  2. Imprint of an Ostrogothic Arian on Ravenna, on the Palazzo and Mausoleo di Teodorico and Sant’Apollinare Nuovo di Ravenna, including the Muro di Droctulf and the Baptisteria degli Ariani;
  3. The Empire Strikes Back (in Ravenna), on the Mausoleo di Galla Placidia, Santa Maria Maggiore, the Battisteria Neoniana and San Vitale di Ravenna;
  4. Venice II: Further Down and Further Out, on San Zaccaria di Venezia and Santa Fosca and Santa Maria Assunta di Torcello

There will certainly be more of these posts, and I may group other Istrian and Friulian things here too when I get the chance. When, not if!
